Was at the busstop after packing dinner from the foodcourt.. Was running my fingers down my fringe when SOMEONE just walked up to me, tap me on my elbow and asked me if I am single.

FREAK!!! I was too appalled i simply stared at him. the statement didnt help: that was the worst pickup phrase i heard.

alright, a flip through the pages of life at half past midnight and i chanced upon an interesting article. My heart skipped a beat. IT IS ISTANBUL! travel feature of the week! well, the article came along with copenhagen and seoul, but it didnt matter to me, I am eager to read what other travel bugs have got to say of this mystical country that I dearly missed.

Fantastic and vivid description of the area (kudos to Life! again cos i am rather illiterate), it wasnt difficult to reflect repetitive images of myself trailing behind miles and miles of fellow tourists, along the long and intertwining streetway(bowen munching away a kebab). Nice.

Of course, there were more beyond those quoted. Tinted paint glasslamps (the shop itself is an attraction), sweet corn, and not forgetting the stories of how passionate locals there are on asian woman!

Dancing

Many liketh to see dance as a form of expression. But dance is more than expression. it reveals the message unspoken. it gives the body a chance to convey its language (though interpretation may vary from person to person) think- Beauty in ambiguity.

At times I draw an analogy with… nonya kueh.

the first layer could be dancing in the form of a gymnastic drill. dance steps are a little raw, basic body movements with a tinge of grace and yet, rigidity in the cheoreography is often subtle;

the second layer is dancing whereby one concentrates and leads the body to the rhythm, achieving the desired emotion that the music conveys. Such dance captures the remembered feeling or an experience.

the third layer is dancing that converts the body into ‘lustuous fluid’: the soul governs the body with inspiration, embraces music and glorifies the deeper aspect of this art.

Gosh, i feel like dancing already

I just had one of the best weekends with Bo. Fri night – his parents and i went to pick him up from work. we had yummy wanton noodles from lavender for supper. Sat -Bo and i visited my aunt and her bundles of joy (all 5 of them!). It is just so amazing Bo agrees so readily to visiting my relatives, this is not the first time, and I am so glad i that i have a bf who is so accomodative and loves my relatives as much as I do. Sat night – we had yusheng with his family back at cck again, and after, a movie where members of the family watched together (2012). Sun night – it was family dinner again, this time at buona vista and it was somewhat, the most hilarious and interesting one. You may feel that is no big deal after listening to this, but it is the little simple details that made me stick on to my love.

I have always wanted a man who holds strong family values and is able to communicate with my relatives, one that is upright and honest, shows care and concern, shares a comman set of values with me and not forgetting, a height of 1.8m! AND I HAVE FOUND ONE THAT FITS THE BILL! YOOHOO!!

so the next time i hear anyone telling me that he/she is enjoying singlehood, i truly will be happy for him/her, but i believe such enjoyment is short lived, as man are afterall, not solitary animals. we need someone to be there to see if your clothes fit, someone to pass you a tissue when you are in tears while watching a melodrama, someone to hold you tight when you cry, someone to pat on your shoulders when you feel dejected, someone to share a champagne when you taste success, and basically, someone who will walk down the ‘road’ with you, rain or shine.

SO, cut that bullshit about how cool singlehood is. Let’s face it, we are no getting any younger. Since our biological clock are ticking, why don’t we ride on the tide and look for THE ONE, instead of bragging about your single life??
